Kids say the darnedest things...

My sister and brother-in-law, Heidi and Mike, made a quick trip up to meet Julia two weeks after she was born, and they brought along their baby girl, Clarissa (who is still young enough to be as oblivious to Julia's existence as Julia is to hers). However, their oldest daughter, Lydia, did not make the trip up here, just to keep the chaos at a minimum. When we visited Lancaster this past weekend, the whole clan was in town, so Lydia finally got to meet her new little cousin. When they entered the house, Lydia was told that she could meet the baby, so she sheepishly approached Julia, who was sleeping quietly. After staring at her for a few seconds, Lydia whispered to us, "Is it a dead baby?" A rather perceptive little observation and not too far off, as she was sleeping quite soundly, but thankfully, not true...
