The Big Sister...

Well, Julia has continued to adjust exceedingly well to Eliza being part of our family, for which we are very grateful.  She seems somewhat tickled by the whole thing -- as evidenced every time we drive somewhere as a family, and she gleefully exclaims, "It's a FULL CAR!!!"

It has been so sweet seeing them interact.  Here's the scene I walked into in our living room the other day, while Eliza was napping... Julia was just quietly gazing away!

Julia continues to want to hold her baby sister every day.  We're getting better with the "Support her head" instruction, as well as the "Tell Mommy or Daddy when you want to get down; don't just drop her" rule...

Julia has also been wanting to learn new, independent things lately -- which has been really helpful!  She's fascinated by now being able to take her shoes on and off by herself...and can ALMOST get them on the correct feet.  And the other morning while Chad was (slightly) nodding off in her bedroom while she played before getting ready, he woke up to a complete outfit picked and laid out by her on her ottoman:

Yup, that's a vintage Muppets t-shirt (courtesy of some relatives), pink velour pants with silver snowflakes embroidered on them, and purple socks.  But how can you NOT allow your kid to wear it, when it's obvious that she so carefully picked it all out?! :)

Overall, we're transitioning well as a family.  And we think Julia is going to be one of the greatest big sisters in the world!

What great pictures ! It sounds like Julia is transitioning to having an addition to the family. ---- Pop O
