Spring Fun 2016!

I have some catching up to do!

Here are some of our assorted memories from this past Spring...

GARDENING...
Both in their "Enchanted Garden" area...

...and around the house!  Julia seemed to like to let me know how hard she was working... :)

OUR FAVORITE TREE:
I would have bought the house just for THIS. :)

CITYSERVE:
We again signed up to help make Christmas Cards for prison inmates.  The girls worked diligently...

...even if the end results might not make total sense this year, either!

(That's "Mary and Joseph wearing party hats"...with Eliza wearing earmuffs that she borrowed from another little girl there!)

(And yes, that's a Star Wars reference with "May the Joy Be with You!")

GRASS HAIR SALON:
Thanks, Aunt Mary Ann, for the fun grass heads!  Many haircuts have been given... :)

SCHOOL DAYS:
Julia had a culminating "Welcome Home Party" for her school unit where they traveled around the world, one country per week.  It was fun to see all that she had learned about so many cultures!

(Although you can't really see it, she wanted to wear her "Mexican dress" and add flowers in her hair.) :)

The party even had gondola rides! :)

MY MINIONS:
Going to see a movie with Minions in it gave us a good excuse to wear an appropriate t-shirt and dress the baby in themed-clothing. :)

BLUE-WHITE GAME:
We were all able to make the hike to Beaver Stadium this year!!!

A former ACF student (KAYLA!!!) we were meeting up with secretly photobombed our final attempt at a family photo!

Caleb enjoyed his first experience with Penn State football...

...and we ALL enjoyed our 1st time getting to go onto the field after the game!!!

My favorite scrimmage of the day :)

And we waited in a huge crowd, hoping to get a moment like this one...

...but, unfortunately.......those are not our kids in that photo.  Our kids are in the next photo. :)

That's the back of the Nittany Lion as he was getting escorted away RIGHT as we got close enough, that's Julia holding her "injured" arm where I apparently pulled too hard trying to hastily get her into position, and that's empathetic Eliza, always willing to cry on someone else's behalf. :)

But miraculously, their spirits were rallied when I let them take their first selfies outside the stadium. (mind you -- these are with a regular CAMERA, just turned backwards.  Pretty good, eh???)

Oh, Photobombing Daddy... :)

I love sharing some fun Penn State moments with this crazy next generation of ours!

(Julia is represented in the reflection of my glasses as she snapped this shot.)

NAP ON POP:
I think these pictures from one of our visits to Lancaster show Eliza's love for her Pop.  And snuggling.  She loves them both. :)

THE ADVENTURES OF FROG AND TOAD:
We gals had a fun theatre outing together...

Our inspiration book...

Julia with Frog (r.) and Toad (l.)

...and with the Birds/Ensemble
(Eliza would talk to NONE of the cast afterward for some reason!)

...but WAS willing to engage in some Sister Craziness outside in front of the marquee!

Eliza has been singing "I look funny in a bathing suit!" for months after seeing that awesome show (complete with the dance routine)...so much so, that one of our friends who visited felt compelled to enter into a self-esteem and positive body-image chat with Eliza before I jumped in to explain the context!!!

It was an awesome spring, made all the more fun with some end-of-year school celebrations...coming in the next post! :)
