Some snapshots from Chad's birthday celebration:
We went to Denny's for dinner so Chad could get his "Free Grand Slam on Your Birthday"...only to discover that the "Kids Eat Free" deal that we were also banking on was only good for Tuesdays. We ended up with 2 leaking diapers at the table, and I discovered a random girl collapsed outside the women's bathroom door when I took Julia on my 2nd changing trip (she appeared to recover). We also had a certain 8-month-old descend into hysterical, unexplained crying during the ride home...causing a ripple effect of matching whining from the near-3-year-old.
Things got better, though, in the moments before bedtimes!
Julia had helped me with the cake decorating this year. AND insisted that we wear hats. :)
To note: In order to bless Chad (and this will only make sense to those of you who know him very well), I made his cake with all expired ingredients, in order to clean out our pantry and fridge a little:
- Cake Mix (April 2012)
- Frosting (June 2012)
- Glaze (October 2011)
And we let Eliza try her first Cheerio to get in on the celebration...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, HUSBAND! Looking forward to this upcoming year...
